Official Scorers in Muskingum County, Ohio

If you take a potential record buck in Muskingum County, you need to get it measured by a certified official. The hills around Zanesville and Blue Rock produce heavy-antlered deer every season that qualify for the Buckeye Big Buck Club or even the Boone and Crockett records. Local scorers have the training to handle the specific measuring requirements for typical and non-typical racks once the mandatory drying period is complete.

Currently, there are two scorers available in the county to verify your harvest. Greg Smith operates out of Blue Rock, while Michael Lewis handles entries in the Zanesville area. Contact them directly to schedule a time to bring in your trophy for a formal score. Making sure your deer is entered into the state records helps track the quality of the herd in this part of Ohio.
