Bow Shops in Buffalo County, Wisconsin

Buffalo County is the destination for big whitetails, and having your bow tuned correctly is mandatory before heading into the bluffs. The steep terrain and long shots typical of this river bottom country put a lot of stress on your equipment. You need a local spot that understands the specific demands of hunting these massive bodies and heavy racks.

There is currently one reliable shop serving the area located in Nelson. Rod's Back 40 Archery provides the technical support and supplies needed for hunters moving through the northern part of the county. Whether you need a quick timing adjustment or new arrows, having a resource right near the woods saves a long drive back toward the city.

Using bow shops in Buffalo County

A pro shop sells and services bows, presses and tunes, cuts and builds arrows, sets nocking points and rests, and usually has a range for sighting in. Many also handle crossbow service and string replacement.

What to ask before you commit

Do you service my bow brand, and do you stock strings for it?
What does a full tune and paper-tune session cost?
Can you build and spine-match arrows to my setup?
Is the indoor range walk-in or by appointment?
How long is the wait for a string and cable replacement?

What it usually costs

Tunes and string installs are typically modest shop-labor charges; arrow builds are priced per dozen plus components. Expect longer waits and less flexible scheduling in the weeks right before opening day.

Timing matters

Get strings replaced and your bow tuned in the off-season. Shops back up badly in the last three weeks before the opener.
