Food Plots in Crow Wing County, Minnesota

Crow Wing County has a mix of heavy timber and swampy creek bottoms that can make patterning deer difficult. With the sandy soil found around Baxter, getting a food plot to take hold requires the right equipment and knowledge of local pH levels. A well-placed plot of clover or brassicas helps pull deer out of the thick cover and provides a reliable source of protein during the lean winter months.
